The Beat Meters play their own funk/jazz versions of danceable rock, pop, jazz, and blues covers. Their repertoire includes selections primarily from the 50's, 60's, 70's, with a smattering of tunes from the 80's, 90's, the present, and some of their own original material. They also can perform classic dinner jazz for any event, the traditional ceremonial music for most weddings, and have their own in house DJ.
The personnel includes Isaac Vandeveer and Greg Reginato on lead guitars, Joe Kaline on rhythm guitar and saxophones, Tony Robinson on bass, and Jerald Stroughter on drums. All band members are accomplished vocalists in there own right, and jump effortlessly from lead to backup as required by the material.
They are a live, working band featured every 1st, 3rd, and 5th thursday at Northlight Books in Cotati, CA, and at various other venues in and around the San Francisco Bay Area. Check MySpace or The Sons of Emperor Norton calendar to keep up on The Beat Meters live appearances. Also check out their repertoire and audio samples.
